BEAUTY TIPS
HAIR EXTENSIONS
Caring for your own natural hair is a little different than caring for hair extensions. Here are some quick tips that you should know:
- When combing your hair, use a soft bristle brush and start by brushing the bottom sections of your head first, gently working your way up to the top.
- Try to always gently tie your hair up when going to bed.
- Do not color your own hair extensions at home. Please let a salon or professional complete this process for you.
- Run your fingers through the braid extensions to prevent tangling.
- Don't add any kinds of oils, sprays, conditioners or any silicone-based products to your extensions as they can cause the braids to slip and unravel quickly.
NAIL CARE
How can I help my dry skin and cuticles?
To aid your hand’s dry skin, apply a good quality moisturizer, oil, or lotion as much as possible throughout the day. Whenever you happen to wash your hands, make sure to apply the lotion. For your cuticles, gently rub quality cuticle oil onto your cuticles twice a day. For excessive dry or chapped hands and feet we recommend a paraffin wax treatment.
How can I avoid splitting and cracking of my nails?
1. Keep nails protected from water.
Water can dry out nails which cause them to split. When cleaning or washing dishes, try to wear gloves to avoid this.
2. Religiously apply hand cream.
Purchase a lotion that retains and seals moisture into the nails. This results in nails becoming stronger and flexible.
3. Decrease the use of polish remover.
Polish removers have alcohol and other chemicals in it which can make nails become brittle. Apply remover no more than once a week.
4. Weak Nails, limit nail polish, buff instead of polish.
Nail polish can have a drying effect on weak nails. To get a shiny, polished look, try a buffer. The friction it creates actually stimulates nail growth.
5. Keep nail length manageable. Go for no more than a quarter-inch beyond the tip of your finger, and keep nails filed into resilient soft ovals.
